Fantastic fall weekend

We had such a wonderful weekend!

I had a Mommy night with my great friend Tracy on Friday night. We went to see the author, Augusten Burroughs speak and he was wonderful! Read Running With Scissors on Saturday and loved it!! We had a great dinner and it is always wonderful to have that time where you feel like a person instead of a Mom for a little while!

Saturday we were supposed to go with 15 families to the pumpkin patch, but Friday's rain made that impossible. Instead we headed to quaint downtown Matthews, picked up some coffee, went to the library and read to the kids. We had lunch at the amazing Beantown Cafe and then took the kids to this huge Halloween Festival. Ryan had a BLAST! I can't believe I didn't have my camera! They played games and decorated cookies. Ryan got in the firetruck and ran around with his pals. My brother came over and we all went up to the hospital to see my Dad who is recovering very well from his spinal surgery. Ryan loves to have his whole family around him.

Sunday Matt woke up with the kids, fed them and made homemade waffles and coffee. You can't beat a wake up like that! We read the paper and played with the kiddos. We got ready and headed to the pumpkin patch to take pictures and get our pumpkins. Ryan loved it, but it is SO hard to get pictures of two kids!! We got pumpkin milkshakes. SO YUMMY!! It was a great time.

And the BROWNS WON?? What are the chances? Ha! I am so hoping that I can actually upload pictures when I get home, as blogger has been having difficulties for the past week!

Bill and Mary's Wedding!!

We spent the weekend in the Poconos with our good friends, Bill and Mary, celebrating their wedding! We really had such a great time! It is always so wonderful to gather for a wedding!! We were able to see Bill and Mary's home and enjoyed great dinners and nights around the firepit! The wedding went so well and we partied absolutely all night long. I am MUCH too old for all this. The best part was how fantastic their families were. We felt like we were leaving family when we left. Matt and I were both so sad to go. It's hard when you live away from such great friends, but we are looking forward to many visits to come!

Smiles!

Once in a while, you can get both to smile!

You gotta have friends!

I got to hang out with some great pals last week!! Look at me putting the moves on Maya!

Weekend

We had such a wonderful family weekend!! Ryan and Matt went to a Lowes workshop to learn how to make firetrucks and Josh and I went shopping. Then we went to a Fall Festival where Ryan decorated a trick-or-treat bag, a cookies, a pumpkin and had a spider painted on his hand. He had a ball. We went to a friend's house for a wonderful party. It was just the perfect fall temp and so beautiful here in Charlotte. I really think we live in the most gorgeous city.

We all got up in our warm jammies on Sunday and had cinnamon rolls and coffee. We read the paper and played with the kids. We cleaned out the playroom to make way for the little man who seems intent on getting into everything lately. We headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house where Ryan helped Grandpa in his new yard and Uncle Scott came over to watch the game. Grandma made a huge feast which we ate on the deck. It was just a wonderful weekend.

The crawler

Don't look now, he's off and crawling BACKWARDS!!! Soon he'll figure it out and life will never be the same! :(

Tool Men

The boys went to a Lowes clinic to learn to build firetrucks! They had a lot of fun. I loved seeing Ryan in his tool gear!! He's quite the builder!

Go Buckeyes!!!

Cheering our team on every weekend, we have to get in the spirit and dress the boys in game colors. I know a better Mommy would have little OSU jerseys for them! Uncle Scott makes sure that I understand the scarlet and gray EARLY!!

The hat

This poor little guy. Why do I torture him so? He had his first $2000 synagis shot yesterday to keep him from getting RSV. We hope that keeps him safe from his big brother's cooties!! He was such a flirt in the Dr's office. I swear he'll be a politician (liberal, of course) ! He is weighing in at 17 and a half pounds now!

How can he already be nine months old?

Who is that preppy baby?

So sweet to see brothers

He does love his bottle

For Josh, there is no one funnier than Ryan

Drool anyone?

Always a smile

Rub a Dub

Two brothers in the tub!! Josh isn't the biggest fan of his bath ring, but when he is free he is likely to flip over and do the swim!! You have to watch him or he'll get a face full of water!
Ryan loves to show him the different toys.

Charlotte Shouts

Some girlfriends and I went to Charlotte Shouts last Saturday and had a great time!!
It was all kinds of cooking demos and famous chefs from around the country came to show how to make their goodies! There was amazing food from all the local restaurants and the kids really had a good time. Here are Ian and Ryan in their chefs hats!!

Hilarious

What ISN'T funny to this kid?
